Our lawyers and law students routinely provide pro bono legal services to a wide variety of organizations, at the local, national and international level. Our pro bono efforts range from direct assistance to those who have difficulty in accessing the justice system, to advising governments in emerging markets on enabling frameworks for the introduction of humanitarian programs. Our pro bono efforts have been recognized by Lexpert magazine, Canadian Lawyer and Pro Bono Ontario (PBO), among others.
Fasken is listed as a Gold Tier firm in PBO’s 100% A2J Leadership Circle, in recognition of our commitment to PBO’s work, both through financial support and as a result of the support provided by Fasken lawyers who take on pro bono work. Our lawyers regularly volunteer as duty counsel on PBO’s Free Legal Advice Hotline. Fasken lawyers also advocate on behalf of students as part of the Education Law Program, and Fasken lawyers have taken a lead role in assisting individuals as part of the PBO/TAS Consumer Protection Initiative. We are also actively involved in assisting numerous Canadian NGOs, Not for Profits and Charities directly. Projects have included pro bono legal services to Hackergal Canada, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking.
