Comments Torys is committed to the ongoing professional development of our students. Your first week at Torys will be devoted to an extensive orientation program designed to familiarize you with our resources and support services, and the practical skills you will need to be a successful student and lawyer. Torys has also developed a customized CLE program for our summer and articling students.

The professional development of our lawyers and students is guided and enhanced by our extensive continuing legal education program, known as "UniversiTory", an 18-month rolling cirriculum. UniversiTory is supplemented by educational seminars tailored to our students. You may also participate in weekly or bi-weekly practice group meetings to discuss current matters of interest.

Articling students are assigned a mid-level to senior associate as well as a partner or counsel as their mentors. We plan formal mentor/mentee events throughout the course of the year. Summer students are assigned a junior to mid-level associate as their mentor.

Students are evaluated three times during their articles and twice during the summer. We obtain input from each of the lawyers with whom the student has worked. The student then receives feedback on his/her performance. The objective is to assist the student to grow professionally.
