Note that the reported percentages are based on respondent participation in voluntary surveys conducted by the specified employer organization and that the results are reported as a percentage of the respondents who answered the question (which may be different than the total number of lawyers at the organization). Only percentages above a certain minimum threshold are reported in accordance with the policies of employer organizations to protect employee privacy. As such, the total of the percentages to some questions may not equal 100%. Demographic Data Explanation

Please use this box to provide any additional breakouts, comments, limitations, or definitions regarding your lawyers or categories as needed, such as the scope of the respondent population surveyed (e.g., all lawyers, all lawyers and law students, all employees, etc.) or the differences between your organization’s categories and those listed above. If you report in a different manner, you may also share that here (e.g., link to organization website).

Please provide details regarding any further demographic information that your firm collects. In the summer of 2023, Dentons Canada launched an updated diversity demographic survey which focusses on a broad range of demographic information, including Indigeneity, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnic and cultural identity, and disability. These new and updated categories were chosen to align with best practices, while prioritizing our team members’ ability to share information in a way that best reflects individual identity. We continue to proactively measure progress, identify barriers, and capitalize on opportunities. The data we collect is used to develop, assess and maintain programs and initiatives that respond to our inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA) goals and strategic priorities. We are currently in the process of running an internal campaign to encourage full and complete participation in the survey, along with obtaining individual consent for diversity demographic data to be shared, in aggregate. In line with our commitment to IDEA, Dentons Canada is pleased to be a signatory to the Catalyst Accord (gender advancement) and the BlackNorth Initiative Law Firm Pledge, and we are Diversity Lab Mansfield Rule 4.0, 5.0+ and 6.0 certified.

If you have specific questions in relation to the collection of our demographic data and/or our IDEA programs and initiatives, please reach out to Justin Khan (Manager, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity) at [email protected] directly.
