Maintaining a healthy workplace has always been at the heart of the firm’s concerns. Throughout its history, long before the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Quebec’s Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, the firm has prioritized recruiting the most motivated and competent people, regardless of their gender, ethnic origin, religion, or any other criterion based on socio-cultural affiliation, orientation, opinions or allegiances.

We are proud that 50% of the decision-making positions are held by women, and to have so much socio-cultural diversity that more than 15 languages are spoken by our members.

In line with our vision and commitment to the community, we established RSS au féminin, an inclusive initiative to promote support and the sharing of knowledge and experience among women professionals in our offices.

In 2009, we also established the Robinson Sheppard Shapiro Foundation, whose primary mission is to support local organizations that help those most in need. The causes we support are diverse, but we focus on those with an educational component, whether legal, financial or otherwise.

We encourage students from many universities to pursue their legal careers through awards and scholarships. This financial support is one facet of our support for the next generation of lawyers.

Finally, we recognize the importance of pro bono services within the legal community and have established an internal procedure allowing us to accept certain mandates.
