We value DEI at our firm. We have a written DEI Policy and a Committee which oversees our initiatives, education and progress. We offer regular DEI training to our entire team -- lawyers and staff -- on issues such as unconscious bias and cultural compentence, throughout the calendar year. Our firm and/or members of our team have supported and/or are involved with the following:
Our Women's Forum, intended promote and support our female lawyers and clients, through various social activities and information sharing, and participation in Justicia, a voluntary program facilitated by the Law Society of BC to support the retention and advancement of women lawyers in the profession. Contributions and/or mentorship to support various diversity related initiatives, including the Black Law Students Association, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, the South Asian Bar Association, and the Allard Law's Women's Caucus. Various charitable initiatives directed by our Philanthropic Initiatives Committee, including a partnership with Girls Who Leap, a non-profit, volunteer run society that provides leadership, mentorship and support for female-identifying and non-binary youth in the Downtown Eastside and Grandview/Woodlands Community. |
